How could I find by certain topic or keyword all books and other releases from your library. I couldn´t find your search system. Thank you!

You will find our bibliographic database directly at http://www.libplussa.fi/#en or through our home page (
http://www.lib.hel.fi/english/index.html ) by clicking "Books & other materials".

Start by choosing the city where you usually use public libraries. This will lead you to the "Basic search".
If you are looking for material about a certain topic, choose "Subject heading or class" and type your search word. Unfortunately the subject headings should be written in Finnish, because our bibliographic records are in Finnish. If you have any basic knowledge of Finnish (or a Finnish dictionary!) you can check the correct terms at http://vesa.lib.helsinki.fi/ . In the title search you can also use search words in English (use the truncation #), but the search results will not be so good as when using subject headings.

Next year (probably in February) the search system will change into a less complicated one. Even then you will find it on our home page ( http://www.lib.hel.fi/ ).
