I live in Pasila and prefer to use the Pasila library, Töölö… 521 Yes, it is still possible to print papers in all the libraries you mentioned. At the moment the libraries are open with restricted services. It is possible to borrow and return loans, pick up reserved materials and also to use customer computers, printers and copying machines for a short time. In Helsinki city library every customer has a quota of five printouts for free every three months. In order to print more, you have to pay money to your printing account. The price of the printouts apart from the five free pages is 40 cents per page.

Are the toilets in Oodi Library for both genders or are there different toilets for different genders. 802 The public toilets at Oodi are unisex. In other words they are gender neutral. There isn´t different toilets for different genders. The meeting and collection facilities of the Helmet libraries will be closed to customers between 30.11 and 20.12.2020, but the libraries will remain open in limited form for short-time visits. Thank You 169 No, sorry, but you can't return books you borrowed from Espoo to Hämeenlinna. Espoo library belongs to Helmet libraries, and Hämeenlinna library to Vanamo libraries. You must return your loans from Espoo to Espoo or some other Helmet library. If you want to become a customer of Vanamo libraries, you need a new library card. You may obtain library card by presenting a photo ID at the service desk in any of the Vanamo libraries. Same card is valid in Hämeenlinna, Hattula, and Janakkala.

There are no national guidelines for laminating the book in Finland. Every municipal library can decide individually about the ways of laminating or protecting the book. In Helmet libraries (municipal library for Helsinki metropolitan area) laminating is done by the supplier. That is part of the deal with the supplier. At the moment, Kuopio city library (in Eastern Finland) in experimenting with non-laminated books. The idea is to experiment how the books will last without lamination in the normal library circulation. The goal of the experiment is to lead Finnish libraries into more sustainable ways of producing and handling library material. We can expect results from the experiment after two years from now.
